• Satellite Localisation & Navigation

Galileo, the new European program for satellite navigation, will be a breakthtough for the development of a "new" market. According to the EU Commision, "the market in products and services generated by the introduction of satellite navigation is forecast to reach 400 billion by 2025."

And in terms of applications, according to the Green Paper of the EU Commission, the sectors which will mainly benefit from Galileo services are:

location-based services and emergency calls;

rail transport;
maritime, inland waterway and fisheries navigation;

civil protection, emergency management and humanitarian aid;
